Komon is a modern form of vintage Japanese pattern making traditionally used on kimonos. Japanese dinnerware manufacturer, Noritake, has seen this art form reinterpreted on a new range of tableware and released the collection in Australia.

Black and white and numerology feature prominently in Komon, with the collection comprising five each of bowls and plates in five different ‘komon’ patterns.

Fine craftsmanship and high quality are two features immediately recognisable in this collection, with the beautiful patterning of Komon, in pure black and white, cleverly combining traditional Japanese design with modern lifestyle trends.

Komon features intricate patterning in beautifully restrained black and white. Comprising pasta, cake and bread and butter plates plus coupe soup bowls, large and small bowls, Komon creates a very personal approach to table setting for both casual and more formal dining.

Each of the five Komon patterns work well when used alone or can be stacked, pattern on pattern, and used as a feature plate or bowl within an all white set, as shown in the attached images.

Retail prices range from $80 to $655.
