Each piece in the collection is inspired by a variety of destinations from Europe through to Asia taking cues from culture and art in the spirit of the historic ‘Grand Tour’ of Europe.
Floral patterns are at the heart of the design. They form an important part of Wedgwood’s heritage and have, over the centuries, been captured in beautiful pattern books, from traditional English garden flowers, such as Primrose and Apple Blossom to European 18th Century Rococo patterns, as well as more exotic Far Eastern Chinoiserie influences.
Bringing all these elements together in a contemporary and colourful way this unique gifting collection include teacups & saucers, mugs, picture frames, gift bowls, gift trays, keyrings and bespoke tea blends.
The teaware, made of Wedgwood’s high quality fine bone china with its variety of cup and handle designs is dishwasher safe and inspired by the popular English Tea Gardens that became established in the 18th Century.
Featuring, amongst others, reds, blues and yellows, with additional gilding on some pieces, this riot of colour and beautiful mixed patterns also create a wonderful gifting collection and each element of the Wonderlust collection is presented in beautiful signature Wedgwood blue gift boxes ready to celebrate all of life’s special moments.
An exciting part of the Wonderlust collection is the inclusion of highly unique, curated tea blends with extraordinary new flavours and aroma, sharing the same inspiration of travel, history and diverse cultures near and far in the spirit of the historical Grand Tour of Europe.
The names of the blends are captivating in themselves: Crimson Jewel, Camellia, Yellow Tonquin, Oriental Jewel, Rococo Flowers and Blue Pagoda. From a harvest of red fruits to Oolong with notes of Asian mango, white tea infused with ylang ylang and green tea with sweet notes of aloe vera and rose petals, each tea blend captures a place, a moment and transports you with each sip of the tea. The leaves, fruits, flowers and spices used are of the highest quality available, so they blend in beautifully to create works of edible art.
This bespoke tea collection is curated for Wedgwood by Bernadine Tay. Bernadine Tay, a biomedical science graduate, is a master tea blender and founder of the multi award winning tea company Quinteassential.
