4 reasons to give out a thank you card
Saying thank you is a considerate way to acknowledge your appreciation. We often say thank you day-to-day and don’t even realise we’re saying it. But did you know that genuinely thanking a customer in business will win you more business?
Monique Annetts, founder of AMA Event Management, gives us her top four tips on why you need to start giving out thank you cards next time you hit the markets.
1. Building a real relationship will give you more business
Building a relationship in business can be challenging. For this reason, I love creating ways that help to build an authentic and warm relationship whilst maintaining that exclusive professional feel.
One method I can share from personal experience is that being grateful for your customer’s business will make them feel valued. (Too easy, right?)
Feeling appreciated naturally encourages your customers to tell their friends and family about you. It motivates them to choose your business again. And what better way to grow your business on a two-way relationship?
2. Easy marketing
Giving your customer a thank you card is not perceived as ‘marketing’, but you’re actually engineering your contact point to work just like it. You’re allowing your customer to make their own perception of you and your business which works better than telling them.
By sending a thank you card means you’re getting in front of them in a way that is non-intrusive and is the perfect solution to your after-sales process.
3. Point of difference
We all hear that term thrown around. Yes. It really is that important. How does a potential customer make up their mind on who to choose when selecting from a whole bunch of companies?
Customer service is high up there in terms of what people value in business, so adding ways to make your customers feel good can only help you. If I had to choose between a company that understands what good customer service is over a company that doesn’t, I definitely know who I’d be choosing.
4. A takeaway that has your brand all over it
A thank you card will have a thank you message, but if you’d like another chance at getting noticed, why not add an enticing reason for your customer to shop from you again? You can add a $ off or % off next order that will increase the chances of them buying from you again.
