4 reasons why you should visit the Mega Show
October is a busy month for many wholesalers and retailers as they start preparing for the upcoming silly season. Many visit trade fairs overseas to do their (last-minute) shopping including the Mega Show in Hong Kong, which is held from 20 to 23 October and 27 to 29 October at the Convention and Exhibition Centre. Here we look at why this fair should be part of your sourcing trip.
simply the best
More than 4,000 suppliers from 33 countries will display the very best in gifts and premiums, housewares, kitchen & dining, home textiles, indoor & outdoor décor, Christmas, festive & seasonal, toys & games plus baby & nursery, giftwrap & packaging, glassware trends, Asian stationery and ecofriendly products, making sure there is plenty on offer for visitors.
from all corners of the world
The Mega Show provides buyers with an abundance of products from suppliers not only from Asia but from all over the world. There are nine group pavilions including India, the Philippines, Thailand, Mainland China, Taiwan, South Korea, Bangladesh, Turkey and Vietnam. Other countries such as Australia, Germany, France, Italy, Japan, The Netherlands, the UK and US are also exhibiting at the fair, making it a must-visit for anyone looking for diversity and variety.
design & innovation
Regarded as an annual global trading destination within the international gift, housewares and toy industries, there has been a steady increase in the number suppliers participating who are looking to expand their customer base not only in the Asian market but globally as well. This rise in creativity and design-led and innovative products has resulted in two new special sections being introduced at the show, the Design Studio and Asian Designer Start-Ups, providing visitors access to unique and high quality products.
where to stay
Getting your accommodation sorted can be tricky as many hotels book out months before the trade fairs even start, and room prices can be quite expensive. Mega Show has been running a special program to sponsor Hong Kong hotel accommodation for international buyers for the past three shows, encouraging new long-haul buyers to attend. Details are available on the show’s website (www.mega-show.com). Over 55,000 buyers are expected to attend the trade show in October (part 1 and 2), so make sure you don’t miss out!
