AGHA announces new CEO
The Australian Gift and Homewares Association (AGHA) has announced the appointment of Wayne Castle as its new chief executive officer (CEO).
Castle joins the AGHA following 25 years in the events industry, most recently at Carlson Wagonlit Travel as director meetings and events, Australia and New Zealand. Prior to this he worked for seven years as the national manager of events and publishing for the Australian Water Association.
In a letter to members, AGHA president Nigel Kirby says Castle’s vast industry experience will be a valuable asset to the organisation. “He will bring to his new role many creative ideas to help deliver enhanced benefits and to ensure that we are responsive to the changing needs and aspirations of our membership.
“He joins the AGHA on Monday June 1 2015, in good time for the lead up to the August Gift Fair in Melbourne, where he will look forward to meeting our exhibitors, business partners and visitors.”
Castle replaces Omer Soker who resigned from the AGHA in March.
