Capra Designs has always been influenced by the lines, shapes and simplicity of mid-century modern design. This is, however, the first time the company has found itself concentrating on this era of design in the harsh desert climate of Palm Springs.
Desert Modernism and the 1970s era have been a visual guide for the ‘Back to Nature’ collection.
The hero pieces of the collection include the Rainbow Object which was influenced by the iconic Californian rainbow motif of the 1970s. The Object is designed to encourage creative thinking, with the ability to be arranged in infinite ways.
The Etch Pots are the other stand out items in the collection. The indentations on the pots have been carefully hand carved into the master pot before creating a mould. The process of Capra Design’s pieces is very much part of the beauty of the finished product.
The collection will be in stores mid-October.
