Music plays a powerful role in the development of young minds. By encouraging the mind and body to work together it stimulates a range of skills including intellectual curiosity, social-emotional, motor, language and literacy competency. In support of these benefits, Artiwood Australia is continually expanding its range of sound and music toys.

Its latest additions include a series of professionally tuned metal xylophones from New Classic Toys. This Dutch brand sources its xylophones from Poland rather than Asia. According to New Classic Toys, through trial and error, it ultimately concluded that European factories still make these instruments with unbeatable precision.

Artiwood has launched two options locally. Both are an eight-bar instrument and ship with a colour-coded music sheet containing six well known songs. Retailers can choose from a large tabletop option or a smaller compact version at an attractive entry-level price point.

Artiwood also offers a range of music toys from Bigjigs finished in gender neutral white and decorated with an array of colourful stars. This attractive collection includes handbells, drums, harmonicas, castanets and recorders. Bigjigs also offers a tuned wooden xylophone finished in classic primary colours. However, children will simply relish pounding away on its wooden framed bongo drums.

For younger children, Artiwood recently introduced the new Melody Mix Wall Bench from I’m Toy. This toy is suitable for children as young as 18 months. It features 10 sound and music experiences including chimes, rattles, maracas and a drum. Artiwood has also refreshed the look of its colourful, professionally tuned metal music bells in 2021.This includes its top-selling spinning bells.

Artiwood Australia’s growing range of sound and music toys is available now. Retailers can also view these products in its showroom and at the upcoming Reed Gift Fair in Sydney from 17 to 20 April.
