The Little Potion Co wins Life Instyle’s New Breed Scholarship
Life Instyle has announced the winner of its latest edition of the New Breed Scholarship, with judges such as Lucy Given, Tracey Hocking and Lyndal Wallis picking The Little Potion Co as their favourite brand.
The scholarship gives up and coming designers the tools, connections and opportunities to put them on the path of success as they take the leap into wholesale.
The prize includes a stand at the upcoming Life Instyle Sydney 2021 event, a half-day business coaching session with TheLotCo, a photographic studio session with The Life Style Edit and a hand-picked exhibitor mentor to help ease the nerves with all the pre-event planning and preparation.
Life Instyle’s event director and scholarship judge, Flyn Roberts, says starting the scholarship was all about seeing (new) brands grow.
“We know what it takes to start a business and we want to be able to support our home-grown talent with a leg-up in the industry and perhaps even change someone’s life,” she says.
“Every edition, the quality of entries just gets higher and higher, making life very hard for my fellow judges and I to select just one winner. We were beyond impressed with the creativity and quality of the amazing products and brands we’ve had the pleasure to discover through the scholarship program.”
The Little Potion Co is the brainchild of sisters Jacinta and Alicia Gordon, who create magical, mindful potion kits for kids. Made from natural ingredients, the kits encourage creative outdoor play and support children’s emotions and imagination whilst creating a positive mindset with potions for self-love, calm and confidence just to name a few.
“The judges loved the way the kits promote imaginative play while supporting emotional development. With some even commenting that they wished they had something similar when they were a child themselves.”
Retailers are able to check out the Little Potion Co Life at Life Instyle next year, which will once again co-locate with Reed Gift Fairs at the ICC Sydney, Darling Harbour. For the first time, the two trade shows’ dates are aligned, which will now be Saturday 20 to Tuesday 23 February 2021.
It will have been a year since the industry gathered in person and the Life Instyle team are busy planning with a vision to re-connect and re-engage with the community in a safe and inspiring environment.
“We know this year has been far from easy and we acknowledge and appreciate the blood, sweat and tears that go in to running a small business. It’s our commitment to be able to support our brilliant community wherever we can including connecting at our live events in 2021, on our digital platforms and with initiatives like the scholarship program,” adds Roberts.
