Brisbane Gift & Lifestyle moves to September
In line with recent market trends as well as feedback from customers, the organisers of Brisbane Gift & Lifestyle have decided to push the fair back to a later date.
Originally scheduled for early July, the event will now be held from 9 to 11 September, which according to Expertise Events’ Gary Fitz-Roy is the perfect time for exhibitors to showcase their products and ensure Christmas purchases and orders can be made.
“We have been monitoring the changing buying patterns from retailers as well as consumer retail data,” he explains.
“This shows that consumers are moving towards buying more heavily around major calendar events and that retailers are more conscious about holding stock for extended periods of time. As such, we are pushing back the fair from early July to mid-September.
“Emerging retail patterns indicate that customers are leaving their buying until they need them and September marks the time when all new products are out and retailers are thinking about and preparing the most important trading time of the year with Christmas and the New Year sales.”
In addition, a new show called Homewares Interior will launch at the same time and will be held concurrently with the Gift & Lifestyle show in Brisbane as well as Melbourne.
“Many exhibitors will be familiar with the need for the events to showcase the entire market including homewares and we see this event as the perfect platform for exhibitors in the homewares and interior design industries to showcase their products to a wider audience,” Fitz-Roy adds.
“We are also introducing new interactive stage areas for exhibitors to participate in, adding a new level of interactivity and engagement to the event, giving attendees more reasons to spend longer at the event as well as building enthusiasm encouraging them to accommodate new opportunities.”
No new date has been announced for Sydney Gift & Lifestyle, which is usually held in September.
