Koh Living launches Australian made body care range
Koh Living has collaborated with indigenous artist, Jacinta-rai Ridgeway-Maahs, on its latest collection.
Known for its support of indigenous artists, the company is excited about introducing the new range of Australian made products featuring Ridgeway-Maahs designs.
“We are launching a beautiful range of Australian made body products including soaps, hand creams and gift sets,” enthuses co-founder, Tui Cordemans.
“Together with a body range we are releasing the new Tree of Life tea light holder, new illuminating candle lamp sets and some new PET recycled shopping bags. There is also a new fragrance with our candle tins, which were a complete sell out last season.”
Ridgeway-Maahs is a proud Worimi woman who lives almost a thousand kilometres to the north in Butchulla (Hervey Bay). While her art captures the Worimi spirit, it also embraces the earthy tones, peachy pinks, pastels and bold colours of her new home to create vivid depictions of country, community, culture and family.
“We spotted her artwork and felt that she was a perfect fit for Koh Living and our values. Her artwork is unique and Jacinta-rai is very passionate about celebrating indigenous culture and art and telling her ancestors stories, which is 100 per cent in line with our purpose.
“The first collection we did with her last season sold out within weeks. Retailers can be guaranteed that their customers will come back for more, especially with the new additions this season.
“Jacinta-rai’s artwork is right on trend and the stories she tells are just absolutely beautiful; she creates stories that connect with people of all cultures.”
Consumers these days are looking for more than just a product, Cordemans adds.
“They want to know where their products are made, what the ingredients are, who the artist is, if the artist is being well looked after; they want to know about the stories and they want to know that in some way that by buying this product, they are doing some good that will make this world a better place.
“The new collection will do amazing in the Australian market and with travellers as they are affordable, meaningful, practical and beautiful. Several of our new products are Australian made and use natural and native ingredients, so it ticks those boxes for our customers too.”
