In a move that will send shock waves through the industry, AGHA has decided to not proceed with the Sydney Gift Fair in February 2026, instead focusing on the fair in September 2026.
In a statement to its members, AGHA CEO Anita Campbell said that two Sydney fairs running at the same time, in different locations, simply doesn’t serve the industry well.
AGHA Gift Fairs Sydney is located at Sydney Showground, while Reed Gift Fairs and Life Instyle are held at the ICC Sydney and are still going ahead as scheduled from 14 to 17 February 2026.
“This isn’t about venues or competition,” she noted.
“It’s about time—your time and that of the retailers who make our fairs successful. We’ve heard that clearly and we’re acting on it.
“Instead, we’ll focus all our energy on delivering one strong, united Sydney Gift Fair in September 2026 (19-21)—timed perfectly, supported strategically and designed to deliver real value for exhibitors and buyers alike.”
According to Campbell, September fits naturally in the buying cycle when retailers restock after winter and prepare for the summer and Christmas seasons. The timing also gives exhibitors and buyers alike the space to plan strategically, launch new ranges and build momentum heading into the busiest part of the retail year.
“Just as August belongs to Melbourne Gift Fair, September will now belong to Sydney—giving each market its own clear space and strength at the most opportune time of the year.”
To ensure all exhibitors have a place to exhibit in Sydney this February, Reed Gift Fairs has released additional space, according to portfolio director Cory McCarrick.
