Aussie brand makes a splash at the Inspired Home Show
Gourmet Easy is a brand that literally means what the name says, making cooking gourmet food easy.
Launched by Ice Brennan in Australia, the founder believes that cooking needs to be fun and easy, not hard and stressful. That’s why she created Gourmet Easy―gourmet made easy.
“Gourmet Easy ensures each component that goes into our products is of the highest quality and that all our products are elegantly designed and user-friendly,” she says.
“Get the same results that expensive professional level cutlery provides, at a fraction of the cost.”
Exhibiting at the Inspired Home Show in Chicago, Brennan was inspired by her own frustrations to start Gourmet Easy two and a half years ago when the kitchen tools she was using were just breaking down too quickly.
“I wanted to design a durable product that would solve that problem and that is easy to use, a time saver that helps everybody. And even if you’re not using it, it looks good just sitting on the kitchen bench.”
Brennan started with a garlic press, which is still her best-seller, and now her range also features a meat tenderiser, peeler, juicer and a burger press, which was launched last year in November and has already sold out twice.
“As I mentioned before, I believe cooking should be fun. When you’re cooking you are generally expressing love, you are caring for family, your friends, it is a genuine expression of love. The amount of love people put into their cooking, it should be an enjoyable journey.
“To live a healthier lifestyle you need to have gourmet food and that’s why I have the brand Gourmet Easy because I want to make gourmet food easy, it’s a simple as that.”
Even though Gourmet Easy is based in Australia, it launched in the US first, which was a great success, with Canada and Europe following soon after.
“The Australian market is relatively small and as much as I want to launch at home, the premium price point of our products may not work very well. However, Australia is definitely on our radar for the future.”
Kitchen is just the tip of the iceberg for Gourmet Easy and while it will be focusing on barbecue and barware next, the brand is also looking to branch out into other categories such as fitness or gardening.
