How HKTDC & AGHA partnership benefits the gift industry
Not long to go now before one of the largest gift fairs in Asia opens its doors. Held from 27 to 30 April, the Hong Kong Gifts & Premium Fair will again showcase the latest products and trends at the Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition Centre.
For BenElke founder, Lisa Joseph, the gift fair will be a great opportunity to assess potential export markets.
“We are also looking forward to meeting new manufacturing partners―as long as they meet our ethical supply criteria.”
The wholesaler takes pride in ensuring its range of products are ethically made―the majority of its range, including the iconic lunch bags, are manufactured in Sydney by adults with disabilities or on the autism spectrum.
“We also manufacture in Vietnam with a World Fair Trade Organisation certified Fair Trade group. The providence of goods is becoming increasingly important for consumers and they are looking to retailers to make more informed and socially responsible choices. Importantly, the product must still be a beautiful and desirable item. Our range is gorgeous, practical and fun, with a feel-good foundation.”
Joseph was recently announced as the winner of the AGHA/HKTDC sponsored buying mission worth more than $6,000, including a complimentary round-trip to Hong Kong plus three nights accommodation in this exciting international city.
“We haven’t been to Hong Kong for almost 20 years! I’m sure it’s changed a lot. Apart from the HKTDC Hong Kong Gifts & Premium Fair, we are excited to immerse ourselves into the food culture and soak in some views from the skybars.”
As a guest at HKTDC’s trade only exhibition at the Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition Centre, Joseph will also receive privileged access to the HKTDC business matching service and the exclusive VIP lounge, invitations to official functions and more.
“As a small business, we love to visit international trade fairs, but our budget doesn’t always allow it. Winning this trip has removed those constraints and will help us develop new business relationships with international supply partners internationally. A huge thanks to HKTDC and AGHA!”
This fantastic prize was won by entering HKTDC’s Lucky Door prize at the recent AGHA Sydney Gift Fair, which shows the strong partnership between the two organisations.
“AGHA and HKTDC have always enjoyed a close working relationship and with the ever-increasing globalised buying patterns of wholesalers and retailers it has never been more important that leading industry bodies facilitate trade between their countries,” adds AGHA CEO, Wayne Castle.
“AGHA is proud to work with HKTDC to promote bilateral trade between our exhibitors and buyers to the benefit of all.”
