Hunting for George launches Moody Blues range
Homewares brand Hunting for George has released its winter 2015 collection, Moody Blues.
Designed by co-founders Lucy Glade-Wright and Jo Harris, the new range is the third textile release from Hunting for George since the brand launched in 2010. It features bedding, cushions and blankets in dark colours with simplified graphics, creating a masculine tone that represents an expansion into more unisex designs.
“For our 2015 collection we are focusing on bolder, slightly more masculine tones,” explains Harris. “We found inspiration for this collection from childhood memories that has seen us develop an earthier, nostalgic look and feel.”
The pair has also used new textures—including Australian merino wool and buffalo leather—in the collection to complement the darker hues. “The introduction of these new materials for winter will add another level of sophistication to our brand and also provide a little bit of extra comfort for those winter months…These designs are all about luxury and we hope they will be cherished for many years to come,” says Harris.
Glade-Wright agrees. “One of our favourite pieces is our new buffalo leather cushion cover. We love the level of sophistication it brings to the range and adore how the leather will evolve over time revealing unique texture, grain and marks.
“[The merino wool blankets] are so incredibly soft and warm that they make the perfect addition for winter. The accessories are complemented by new designs in our popular pure cotton sateen bed linen.”
When designing, Harris says the pair is conscious of how past pieces will complement a new range. “This collection has a very clear design direction and all the designs work well together. That is something we always focus on when designing—we want our customer to be able to mix and match from season to season so we always consider existing styles in the range.”
Hunting for George is currently stocked in stores throughout Victoria, NSW, SA, Tasmania and WA.
