Ikea launches wellness range
Thanks to the wellness movement, most people today recognise that mental and emotional wellbeing is just as important as physical health, and know the benefits of unplugging from the chaos of modern life (at least in theory).
It can be hard to press the pause button, but a new limited edition collection from Ikea invites consumers to do just that. Whether it’s to practice yoga, tend to a plant or just relax, the Hjärtelig collection is about wellness—in body and mind—and taking time out to refocus.
The stripped-back range was designed by Andreas Fredriksson and Maja Ganszyniec and includes furniture and homewares made from natural materials like cotton, rattan, linen, cork and solid pine.
The pieces are designed to help shoppers create calm, peaceful spaces perfect for rest and relaxation.
“With the Hjärtelig collection, we want to reach all your senses,” says Ganszyniec. “For the sake of feeling, I chose the natural material linen for Hjärtelig throw and cushion covers. They will also make your bedroom feel warm and snug.”
Ikea is known for making small spaces liveable, and with the Hjärtelig collection Ganszyniec says they explored ways to make even a studio apartment feel spacious enough to relax and recharge in.
“The bedroom is a special, almost sacred space in a home. It’s where we relax after a long day and recharge our batteries. But what happens if we only have one room? We looked closer at this and how the bed can be ‘framed’ to create a room in the room.
“In the end, the solution was Hjärtelig bed canopy—inspired by traditional bed canopies. The sheer fabric is a mix of linen and cotton which makes your sleeping environment feel airy, natural and clean.”
Along with the usual items you expect from Ikea (bedding, cushions, storage etc.) the Hjärtelig collection also includes a yoga bag, rug, strap and block, encouraging shoppers to take time for their physical health, too.
The Hjärtelig collection is available from April.
