RIMLeGS Publishing introduces the Muzicbug picture story books series.

Each of the 20 books in this unique series features a tale about a musical bug and their trusty instrument learning a different life skill message such as being active, making friends, being organised, teamwork, leadership, valuing others, caring for the world, working hard, and never giving up.

The creators, clinical psychologist Dr Rebecca Meaney and school teacher Leighton Smith developed the series to introduce important life skills which are widely considered as being critical foundations for social and emotional wellbeing in children. The authors have integrated these 20 skills into 20 engaging stories with colourful illustrations, supplemented by original music.

The books have purpose, meaning and practical application as each of the 20 ‘skills for life’ can be practiced by children, and subsequently reinforced by teachers and parents using the Muzicbug Awards chart and reward stickers. For example, taking the dog for a walk can earn a Ferdi Fly ‘Being Active’ sticker, tidying up the bedroom can earn a Monty Moth ‘Being Organised’ sticker and watering the plants can earn a Captain Caterpillar ‘Caring For The World’ sticker.

Muzicbug books create a framework in which parents and educators can further enhance and develop these life skills with their children. A solid, and well-practiced set of life skills help create strong, confident children.

Children can read along with the books as they listen along to each of the 20 corresponding audio audiobooks, which feature the beautiful sounds of 20 instrumentalists as well as the Muzicbug Orchestra. Children and families alike will enjoy listening to the engaging narration and outstanding musical performances.

The vast array of sounds and textures of the musical instruments further enhance the child’s audio skills and add purpose and meaning to the series.
