The year 2019 has ushered in the era of cultured ceramics―dining vessels that are equal parts functionality and beauty, pieces that reflect our love of healthy eating and utilise the planet’s most natural materials and showcase the earth’s muted colourings.

Noritake, with its 115-year history of creating the most exquisite tableware, has turned its expert gaze to the contemporary table―a place where we share modern cuisine created with fresh, locally produced ingredients.

Colortrio, Noritake’s latest creation, is a collection of tableware for casual dining―breakfast, lunch and dinner.

Its name gives a hint to the complex glazing process that is used to create its beautifully serene colour palette of three muted colours.  Slate has an exterior of a soft gull grey glaze, with white rim and muted pebble grey interior.  Graphite has an exterior of matte black glaze with white rim and muted jade green interior.

Colortrio features entrée and dinner plates, cereal/soup bowls and mugs.  The mix of the subdued, earthy colours means there are no rules in terms of what can be used with what―all sit perfectly side by side on the same table.

Made from fine porcelain the delicate proportions of the pieces belie their strength and durability―each piece is dishwasher, microwave and oven safe.

Retail prices range from $69 to $119.
