Bigjigs believes in inspiring, stimulating and encouraging a child’s development through cognitive play. Artiwood Australia launched an expanded educational product offering from this well-established British brand after taking on its national distribution in 2019. It now offers a growing range of educational products including maths trays, puzzles and early learning toys.
Bigjigs maths trays are proving particularly popular with young families and early educators. The range includes a sturdy wooden timetable tray that teaches tables from 1 to 12. Colour coding links associated numerical columns and the tray’s individual tiles can be turned to reveal an equation’s answer.
A number tray teaches children to count from 1 to 100. A fractions tray introduces children to the concept of fractions while help them visualise and identify fractions from 1 to 1/12. Children also flip a tile to uncover its decimal equivalent. For younger children Bigjigs also offers a colourful puzzle tray that teaches them numbers, simple fractions and shape recognition.
Bigjigs learn-to-write boards teach children to identify numbers and learn the alphabet. A series of printed arrows and tracing grooves on each board then teach them how correctly scribe each numeral or letter. These sturdy boards are built to endure plenty of active play.
For younger children Bigjigs offers a range of early learning toys. This including learning to count stackers, clocks for teaching time, alphabet blocks and an impressive array of shape puzzles. A favourite among early educators is the new Bigjigs cog puzzle. When correctly assembled its pieces create a colourful series of moving parts.
Bigjigs also offers a series of wooden role toys handy for teaching children about food. This includes seven different crates filled with instantly recognisable items. The range currently includes bread and pastry, fruit, vegetable, butcher’s and seafood crates, plus two cutting food options.
