Xavier&Me, an interior design studio and online homewares business, founded by Ellie Bradley, is introducing a new chandeliers range in Australia.
Drawing on African heritage and local craftsmanship, the clay-beaded chandeliers are all handmade in South Africa. Each bead is hand-rolled using raw clay from the region; they are then dried, kiln fired and dip-dyed before being masterfully strung onto its unique wrought iron frame. This handcrafted process ensures no two lights will ever be the same.
Initially, the chandeliers were crafted by local women whose lives had been impacted by HIV and so desperately needed an income to support their families. Over time, as popularity grew, more and more women with differing circumstances approached the company for work. As a result the criteria has been broadened to any local woman who is prepared to put in the effort to create something special.
“I am really excited to be offering these magnificent chandeliers for the first time on Xavier&Me,” says Bradley. “These chandeliers are just stunning, so stunning in fact I have one in my home and just ordered another one.”
Every chandelier is numbered and comes with a certificate of authenticity, in addition to being fully compliant with Australia’s electrical requirements.
