While it’s not strictly a Japanese design, you would be hard pressed to find a Japanese home without at least a little bit of Disney magic sprinkled around the interior.
J Style started importing licensed Disney teapots and tea sets after encouragement from one of their tea ware suppliers in Japan who was keen to expand their market for licensed products.
What started out as a few Mickey & Minnie tea sets has boomed into an expanding range of ceramic licensed product including Disney, Star Wars and Marvel franchises.
With stock often selling out before it hits Australian shores, J Style is now offering a pre-order service through its website for these licensed ceramics. Buyers can access new designs and ceramic items beyond the tea wares regularly kept in stock in Australia by J Style. Last Christmas the service was well utilised with Disney fans scooping up everything from glass tumblers, soap dishes, trinket boxes, rice bowls, spoons and even Disney character chopstick rests.
Many of these were new designs only released in Japan in October and November. Regular customers of J Style were confident to place advance orders based on photos and even just sketches of the new designs. J Style was able to secure much of the stock just in time for Australia’s Christmas season without waiting to show samples at an Australian gift fair after release. In many cases the new Disney items ended up being exclusive to those retailers who had placed advance orders.
While the deadline for advance orders for February has already passed, there will be some extra stock arriving that can be pre-ordered now through the website. New advance order products will be announced on Facebook and via the J Style newsletter.
February’s new Disney licensed products include Stitch Teapot, Stitch Mug, Chip ‘n’ Dale teapot, and Marie Pocket Hug Mug. Wholesale prices range from $18 to $30.
J Style will not be exhibiting at the Sydney Gift Fairs in February 2019.
