In March 2021, J Style launched its first round of advance orders for new and exclusive Disney and Universal Studios licensed ceramic gifts. The full range by SunArt Japan includes a variety of specialist items that do very well in Japan, but until recently have only found a limited market of keen buyers in Australia.
J Style regularly receives enquiries from the public for different styles of tableware including those more often used in Asian style food presentation. It takes a little time to filter through to Australian retailers that this kind of tableware is more popular than they think.
Disney Princess rice bowls, Mickey Mouse ramen sets and Toy Story chopstick rests are just a few of the items that Disney collectors and lovers of Asian cuisine are keen to get their hands on.
J Style’s new advance orders process online enables its customers to source from a much larger range of SunArt’s licensed product. It also gives J Style a window into the demand for particular items here in Australia.
Following the first round of advance orders in March, J Style found huge demand for what it calls ‘double bowl sets’. These include a ceramic rice bowl, with a plastic soup bowl that sits on top, making a cute pair of bowls. Although there are fewer families in Australia that regularly eat rice and miso soup for breakfast, these bowl sets are excellent gifts for children or to use for other foods like snacks or desserts.
J Style’s next round of advance orders will start in May, with stock due in Australia in July 2021. Sign up to the J Style newsletter on its website to be first to know what items are on offer for the next round.
