Australian-born Marc Newson, recognised as one of the world’s most influential industrial designers, has added another piece to the best-selling dinner service he created with Noritake.
Newson, renowned for his fluid style―in which translucency and strength dominate amidst an absence of sharp edges―partnered with Noritake to create the original dinner service in 2005.
Comprising entrée, dinner and side plates, bowls, cups and saucers, mugs, serving platters and bowls, each piece is sculpted in the finest white bone china. Since its conception the beautifully timeless, contemporary dinner service has featured in Qantas first and business class cabins and continues to feature on dinner tables across the globe.
The latest piece is a deep plate, ideal for pasta, soup, braises and curries, featuring the same soft curves, fine bone china and strong, chip-resistant attributes as the original pieces. The plate has a diameter of 23cm and a height of 5cm.
Perhaps one of the collection’s most unique features is that it is equally at home on a formal dining table as a casual dining experience.
Each piece of the Marc Newson by Noritake dinner service is both microwave and dishwasher safe.
Set of four deep plates retails for $210.
