Christmas table settings are always a challenge―selecting a colour scheme, casual or more formal theme, how much sparkle?

Noritake, one of Australia’s leading suppliers of table and glassware, has produced its style list for this year’s festive tables that includes fresh green with lots of neutrals.  It’s a casual, laid back affair featuring coloured glassware and a mixed approach to tableware.

Green is hard to resist when it comes to Christmas and Noritake has chosen deep earthy green water tumblers from Italian artisans IVV.  The hand-made Lounge Bar tumblers, made using the 19th century art of cased glass to produce an exceedingly translucent colour, are available in Moss Green or Dusk in four different sizes.

The green highlights to the table are enhanced with the use of fresh foliage which contrasts well with the natural tones in the oatmeal and white table runner and hessian napkin rings―all very simple styling elements but really effective.

A touch of bold has been introduced by virtue of the Colorwave dinner set in Graphite.  A very contemporary take on a traditional material, Colorwave features exceptionally high quality stoneware that is almost as fine as porcelain. It works well for both casual and more formal dining with each piece comprising a warm ivory interior and a striking contrast in the matte graphite on the exterior.  Salad and dinner plates also feature a wide rim in matte graphite.

Colorwave teams perfectly, in terms of profile and colour, with the beautifully classic and timeless Marc Newson collection.  Using plates and serving platters from both collections creates additional visual interest to the table.  All that is needed now are a few Christmas baubles―in silver or glass.

Set of six Lounge Bar tumblers retails for $234, Colorwave 16 piece dinner set for $382 and Marc Newson 20 piece dinner set retails for $655.
