Even though making a pot of leaf tea only takes about three minutes and those three minutes can be a well-deserved tiny break in your day, some people still insist that they prefer a coffee or even a tea bag, in a mug. We’re not judging. Gazing at coffee slowly dripping into your mug can be just as satisfying.

It’s no surprise that J Style almost completely sold out of mugs and tea cups in August, but don’t worry, a whole shipping container of stock arrived in September and more mugs are on their way before Christmas.

J Style’s tea mugs and large mugs are all made in Japan and are both dishwasher and microwave safe. Its colourful yuzen tea mugs are made from special lightweight clay that makes the mugs very easy to hold. They make a great gift for older relatives or anyone suffering from arthritis or other conditions that make holding a heavy mug difficult. Mugs are priced at $9.90 and matching teapots and cups are available for $24.20 for teapots and $6.30 for Japanese tea cups.

J Style’s handmade stoneware tea mugs and large mugs are also extremely popular. The blue or red designs are earthy and heart-warming. The wabi sabi appeal of knowing the mugs are not manufactured on mass by machines, but by hand by women working in rural towns in Japan, makes them that much more special. Wholesale prices range from $7.50 to $11.30 for mugs, with matching teapots available for $22 and Japanese tea cups for $5 to $5.40.

J Style’s favourites are 500ml large Japanese mugs for $11.30 each. Big enough to hold an entire pot of tea at once, this is anyone’s kind of mug in the morning. In five gorgeous blue and white traditional designs, they have a thin rim which is very nice to drink from and also come in a smaller size for $6.30 each.
