Her Hands has added to its range of handmade pieces for the conscious consumer with a new magazine pulp lighting collection, handcrafted by female artisans in southern Africa.
Big, bold and proud to take up space, the raw ceramic-like texture of the pendant lights is balanced with a soft scalloped edge, bringing a beautiful textural element and just the right amount of statement.
This latest collaboration is with a female artisan group in southern Africa.
Through a partnership with local magazine distributors, they make the shades using 100% magazine waste and pioneering techniques.
Each piece is made start to finish by the one artisan and provides much needed employment.
The shades use water-based paints and an eco-varnish and are fully biodegradable.
They are initially available in two colours―clay and white―and two sizes (medium and large), starting at RRP $580.
