WÜSTHOF recently released its Classic Colour knife series. Combining five stylish colours with eight practical blade shapes, the new series offers a truly impressive variety and captures the zeitgeist of cooking―transforming the kitchen from a workplace to one of enjoyment and personality.
This series, an extension of the iconic Wüsthof Classic series, is meeting customers’ wishes for more colour, particularly desired among younger generations, and aligns with the trend for a more individual style of kitchen design.
The Classic Colour series sees the form and function of impeccably crafted knives united with distinct, beautiful and emotive colours.
The names of the five unique colours are inspired by the culinary world and include Pink Himalayan Salt, Coral Peach, Purple Yam, Tasty Sumac and Velvet Oyster.
As for the colours themselves, Wüsthof took a much broader approach when developing these, as product designer Björn Berger explains.
“With Wüsthof Classic Colour we present a new design selection with liveries inspired by fashion, architecture and art,” he says.
“This concept and the combination of colours see a unique and avant-garde selection of knives dressed to become real ‘it-pieces’.”
As with the Classic series, the fully forged knives in the Classic Colour series have optimal balance and high stability, thanks to the full tang and impressive sharpness that allows precise movements.
Each knife, made in Solingen, Germany, goes through 55 separate production steps. The complete series can be brought as a set, in a block or as individual knives. Prices range from $199 for a paring knife to $2,499 for a knife block.
