As the seasons change, so does the table―foods become more rich and flavoursome, while tableware takes on more pattern and texture. It’s all about warming the heart and soul.

Noritake has revealed its take on what the coolest―or warmest―tables will be wearing this winter.

For a tasty, satisfying bowl of pasta the generous Colorwave pasta bowls are the ideal accompaniment to a chunky slice of artisanal bread and shredded Parmigiano.  In a rustic stoneware, Colorways features an ivory interior with wide rim in a choice of slate, graphite or clay.

Spicy Asian curries and hotpots are a sure-fire way of bringing a little heat into the coldest of days and Noritake’s Nami collection of bowls, in three sizes, are the perfect vessels.  These beautiful porcelain bowls, in the heritage colours of indigo blue and white, are decorative and tactile with their contemporary take on conventional, raised geometric patterning.

Komon is the Japanese brand’s more traditional take on rice and curry bowls are a must for anyone who loves to cook and/or eat Asian food.  In high quality porcelain, the bowls feature five traditional Japanese patterns―arrows, chequerboard, waves, dots and stylised hemp leaves―in a black and white colour palette. They are designed to layer with other pieces in pure black or white such as Marc Newson’s dinnerware collection or BOB―both from Noritake.

And who doesn’t love a deeply satisfying afternoon tea on a blustery Sunday afternoon.  Warm crumpets, hot chocolate―all sit perfectly on a richly textured Cher Blanc porcelain plate or the more formal fine white china of Toorak Noir.

Cher Blanc is Noritake’s light and fine white porcelain―its appearance belies its incredible strength and durability―featuring a subtle embossed latticework repeat pattern accented by a scroll border.

Toorak Noir melds elegance with contemporary sophistication.  A crisp white body in a fine white china is embellished with platinum and black border detailing.

All of Noritake’s porcelain and fine china pieces are extremely robust, chip resistant, dishwasher safe and microwave safe.

Retail prices range from $80 to $810 for a 12-piece dinner set.
