Originally known as ATP Creative Design, founder Sharon Grant began making planners as a side hustle to her full-time corporate job in 2014.
From humble days at markets, meeting and being inspired by customers, Grant jumped at the chance to become a corporate dropout in early 2020, just as Covid hit.
“The business started as a side hustle, something I began as a way to relieve stress,” she explains. “I had a sick family member and needed something that took my brain away from worrying. I started learning design and here I am.
“We originally had framed planners, so white board where you write on the glass, but unfortunately with Covid and shipping restrictions we couldn’t ship the frames, so we had to pivot. We re-branded and we now do all magnetic planners and calendars.”
Indeed, Organising Life Beautifully offers Australia’s widest range of reusable planners, calendars and charts for kids, with a focus on sustainability, functionality and beautiful designs.
“Many assume the planners and calendars are made in China, but they are made in Melbourne.
“There is nothing like us in this space. We are new, our products are as reusable and sustainable as possible, which is important to me and my brand, so while the product doesn’t break down, it is reducing the waste to landfill. We are making a contribution in a small way, but it is important.”
While she isn’t too concerned with expanding into other categories at the moment, she has added organising accessories and a kids range to the brand.
“We continually introduce new lines, new colours and designs, and new layouts, but the classic black is still the most popular.”
Based in Canberra, the brand’s products were only available online until Grant decided to tap into the wholesale market and exhibit at Life Instyle to test the market.
“People are getting to know us and starting to learn about the product, and we’re seeing some people coming back around so that is really nice. We do sell overseas still through our online store, we just signed up some New Zealand customers, which is exciting.”
