The Inspired Home Show 2023: focus on the new and innovative
The Inspired Home Show, which is held from 4 to 7 March 2023 at McCormick Place in Chicago, has a large collection of exhibitors from over 50 countries, showcasing thousands of new products each March including myriads of innovative on-trend brands and products not available at European or Asian shows.
In this time of shipping and logistical delays, product and vendor diversification has become critically important. As such, visiting the Show has distinct strategic advantages—retailers can source products that differ from their competition while also building relationships with new brands to guarantee a continual supply of products. And, with the Show being the homebase for US brands, Chicago is where buyers will find the full representation of products on display, rather than just a select few taken to other international fairs.
While much of the home + housewares buying during the pandemic was for personal and family use, it is now shifting to things that are meant to be seen and shared with all manner of loved ones.
Successful at-home entertaining requires not only items that help prep fantastic and often creative dishes, from cook + bakeware to kitchen electrics and gadgets, but also things that enhance presentation of the home and the meal, including tableware, glassware and barware and bar accessories; textiles and décor—and don’t forget all of the outdoor living products that help consumers throw a great backyard BBQ or summer soiree.
Other unique activations to assist with product discovery include:
• The IHA Smart Home pavilion featuring curated exhibitors of smart home brands and connected products for the different areas of the home. More Smart Home products can be found throughout the Show, especially at the Show’s strong Wired + Well Expo.
• Inventor’s Corner is a pavilion of 60 inventors showcasing their freshest product creations. Speak to the inventors themselves and see them pitch shark-tank-style to a panel of professionals in the Inventors Revue.
• gia Product Design Display features exhibitors’ latest creations and cutting-edge innovations with award recognition, recognising five finalists in 14 product categories
• IHA Market Watch is a product display illustrating the key consumer lifestyle trends shaping how, what and where home + housewares products are purchased over the next 18 to 24 months.
