Swing Gifts goes for gold at Reed Gift Fairs
Gift and homewares supplier Swing Gifts was excited to be back at Reed Gift Fairs after three years, catching up with existing customers as well as meeting new potential clients.
“It has been wonderful to reconnect with everybody we haven’t seen for three years, especially our interstate clients,” says managing director, Andrew Irving.
“It has just been nice to get together, shake hands and thank each other for all the support that was offered during the pandemic.
“One of our objectives at the fair is to establish as many new customers as we can. The investment in the trade fair is really about meeting and showcasing our range to a variety of potential new relationships and we are pretty pleased with the new business we have written at this fair.”
While Swing Gifts doesn’t really focus on fashion forecasts, Irving says the gold trend which started a few years ago is certainly gaining momentum.
“Gold is a tricky colour though. We have quite an extensive offering of gold furniture, accessories, etc, and a lot of new homes are switching from that sleek silver look to gold. You see it in tapware, you see it in furniture and home décor as well.
“But you don’t want to overdo it, because it is a very loud colour and one specialty piece is often enough.”
The company displayed four complete looks at the fair and all of them performed as expected, adds Irving.
“Our ranges tend to just evolve from season to season, so we do our own thing. Fairs are essential to recalibrate what you’re doing and to make sure you’re on a path that you’re happy with and it is a great opportunity to see what everybody is doing and get a bit of a global view of the marketplace.”
