Top3 by design website takes out three awards
The website of Australian design retailer top3 by design has won three silver awards – for user experience, visual appeal and shopping experience – at the 2014 Awwwards.
The Awwwards recognise the talent and effort of the best web designers, developers and agencies worldwide, who create digital experiences that are useful, innovative, intuitive and beautiful.
Designed in conjunction with Australian agency DDI and web developer Stuart Tremain, the top3 by design site was relaunched in August this year and ticks all the boxes in terms of design and speed, as well as browser display and best practice.
“DDI’s understanding of the top3 brand has coupled with their unique creativity and technical ability to bring our brand and products alive in a fun and engaging way,” says top3 by design director, Terri Winter. “ A feat that is obviously not only appreciated by our customers but also judges the world over.”
The top3 by design digital shopping app also took out a silver award and, earlier in the year, the same app won the prestigious Communicator Award of Distinction 2014 in the US.
DDI’s creative director, Chris d’Arbon, says that user experience is paramount when designing apps.
“We’re finding that the desire for apps that are well designed, easy and fun to use is higher than ever. Users are becoming connoisseurs in their own right, so functionality is king for us.”
Top3 by design is a unique approach to retailing that aims to showcase the best products in terms of quality, innovation and style. While the top3 range features over a thousand products, each category contains only three products – the top three by design.
