Toys”R”Us ANZ CEO steps down
Louis Mittoni has resigned as group CEO and managing director of ecommerce toy retailer Toys”R”Us ANZ after two and a half years at the helm.
Mittoni led the successful relaunch of the Toys”R”Us brands in Australia and more recently the UK.
In an ASX statement, the board thanked Mittoni for his drive, energy and vision as group CEO leading the company.
“Louis is the largest shareholder of the company and will remain on the board as an executive director whilst he is serving out his notice period and will be subject to rotation at the annual general meeting.”
Mittoni will focus on key international market and technology projects in the company’s ANZ and UK licensed territories over the coming six months.
“He will also focus on the migration of our ecommerce platform to a new platform for holiday season 2023 and support the roll-out of the store-in-store trial with WH Smith in the UK.”
The search for a new managing director is currently underway with final interviews scheduled for late May. In the interim Kevin Moore, chair of TOY, will combine the roles of CEO and non-exec chair as executive chair based in the Melbourne head office for three months or until a new group CEO has been appointed.
