4 trends from Bloomingville at NY NOW
In line with the upcoming autumn and winter season, Dark Nordic was one of the trend groups home and interior design brand Bloomingville introduced at NY NOW in New York this weekend.
While the Danish company only entered the US market about a year and a half ago, the brand already has a strong following.
“In Europe it’s all about furniture, but for the US market we are more focused on tabletop, décor and small furniture pieces,” says merchandising and product development manager, Paulette Moutal.
Inspired by Scandinavian minimalist design principles, the four trend stories the company introduced at the fair covered everything you need for both the home and kitchen.
Dusty Road features a lot of pink combined with greys, whites and black; Artisinal Touch has a focus on handmade pieces; Living Lounge features the ever so popular cactus as the main feature; and the previous mentioned Nordic Black, where we see cherries replacing the pineapple as part of the décor as well as a tabletop item―inspired by art deco, warm earth colours such as deep red and dark blue take centre stage in this popular Nordic trend.
Bloomingville has also branched out into kids’ products. “We only introduced these ranges one to two seasons ago, but they have been received very well,” adds Moutal.
While this collection features pink items for girls and blue for little boys, it has also introduced a gender neutral range, ensuring all aspects of the market are covered.
The brand releases two new lines each year and is available in Australia from French Bazaar.
