6 local retailers to follow on Instagram
Instagram has become one of the most powerful marketing tools for retailers, but it can be overwhelming figuring out what to post, not to mention growing your followers. Get some inspiration from these six Aussie home and gift retailers doing amazing things online.
1. Little Paper Lane
Jayde Leeder has built up a dedicated online community, with 38,000 people following along at home. She posts images of everything from her two cute kids, cheeky things her dogs have been up to and, of course, what’s new in her Mona Vale store, Little Paper Lane.
The genius of Jayde’s account is her openness—she lets her personality shine through in hilarious captions and interacts with her followers in the comments. LPL is definitely an account to watch if you need tips on injecting some fun into your store’s posts.
2. The Gymea Lily
The Gymea Lily celebrates its 30th anniversary in 2016, and as the store’s Instagram reveals, it’s looking better than ever. The team are dedicated to visual merchandising, and post pictures of their latest and greatest displays. We love checking in to see what’s new and, more importantly, how it’s being styled.
3. Opus Design
Offering the perfect mix of behind the scenes shots, styled images and in-store merchandising, Opus Design’s Instagram makes you want to pay the store a visit. You can’t ask for more than that!
Stay away from Lark’s account if you’re quitting sugar—it’s packed with images that are as sweet as the products owner Allison Jones sells. She knows what her followers want, sharing pictures of everything from cute babies to cakes with a few products and in-store shots thrown in.
5. Kikki K
The stationery store has mastered Instagram, with perfectly styled paper posts and popular hashtags including #kikkiKPlannerLove that followers can use to share their own experiences of using the products. Check it out for examples of building a social community through hashtags and product giveaways.
This Prahran store’s feed is chock full of colour, pattern and interiors inspiration. It has built up a follower baser of 158,000 by posting inspirational images of rooms featuring products available in-store, rather than individual sales pitch posts.
