Gourmet Brands has added UK product Sweeting Cards by Mallow Tree to its portfolio to diversify its offering to a wider market.
The greeting cards come with sweets such as jelly beans or sugar coated lollies, which are made in Holland, to double as a card and gift in one.
Sales director, Andrew Huhn, says Gourmet Brands brought Sweeting Cards to Australia because it believes the product is unique in the greeting card sector.
“There are 36 designs to a stand or a turntable unit and there are three particular collections,” he adds. “There’s retro-eccentric, vintage candy and neon kraft and the varieties include happy birthday, thank you, congratulations, thoughts are with you and various baby type cards. They’ve also launched a Christmas range in 10 different designs and we’ve got some fantastic orders.
“It’s quite novel because not only is it a card with a pack of jelly babies or sugar coated sweet treats, but it comes with its own mailing envelope which allows you to post anywhere within Australia or the world.”
Sweeting Cards was launched at the August Home & Giving Fair and was a hit with retailers.
“I’ve been surprised at the trade show, just how well the brand has been received and already demand has been terrific by all the major groups and it’s ideally suited to gift stores, florists, newsagencies and pharmacies.”
