From espresso to sawdust and vodka and schnapps, there is a candle for every man in Melbourne brand L’Ascari’s ‘mancandle’ range.
Founder Luca Chiaravalle, who started L’Ascari seven years ago, says the mancandle collection lets men put a finishing touch on a room.
“It allows any man to enhance his space be it at work or at home by being able to customise the scent of his environment with one or a combination of six sophisticated fragrances,” he explains.
The mancandles were on display at Life Instyle Sydney along with L’Ascari’s reed diffusers, room sprays and a new unisex skin care range. Made from organic and plant-derived ingredients, the range includes a shower gel, hand and body lotion, and hand wash.
Chiaravalle began his business after studying product design at Monash University and says he realised most candles on the market lacked a ‘design’ aspect.
“I wanted to change this in terms of the label design and packaging,” he explains. “I also wanted to create a product that was handmade and reflected the way things were done in the past by skilled artisans.”
The brand continues to live up to this, with all L’Ascari products designed and made in Melbourne. “[Our approach is] to create beautiful small batch products with an ethical core at the forefront,” Chiaravalle says.
o achieve this, the brand uses high quality ingredients and combines this with attention to detail and an affordable price point.
Chiaravalle is focused on expanding the L’Ascari product range but says he can’t give too much away. “I am working on a new range of candles and a series of products designed for personal use…All will be revealed in the coming months.”
