NY NOW takes NYC by storm
Success in retail is now all about experience and presenting what is unique, distinctive and innovative, which was the main focus at NY NOW Summer market.
Held from 12 to 15 August in NYC, the event is a sourcing destination for buyers, designers and shop owners with some of the world’s top designers such as Kartell, Vitra, Artek and Tom Dixon showcasing their newest products, as well as the introduction of new events and programs.
“From inspiring trend talks and book signings with leading influencers to an incredible roster of established and emerging brands, the Market floor was buzzing with excitement,” says Randi Mohr, Emerald Expositions vice president and NY NOW director.
“We saw notable increases in both the number of retail stores, and architects and interior designers attending. Buyers from the entire US and 70 countries around the globe flocked to New York City to source what’s now and what’s next in home and lifestyle products.”
Leading fashion, design and lifestyle authorities such as Iris Apfel, Justina Blakeney, Brittany Watson Jepsen, Erin Gates, Nicole Feliciano, and more shared insights and met with attendees during several trend talks and book signings that took place during the market.
“Coming to NY NOW (this is my second visit) sends me home with great inventory, education, and inspiration,” says visitor Tracie Hess, who owns Charmed Beauty and Gifts. “Not to mention I get to have a fantastic few days in the city.”
Native owner Marie Flaherty visits the show twice a year. “I purchase from my regular vendors or view new items in person… The show is highly organised and professional. I always find new products,” she adds.
The winter 2019 edition of NY NOW, the Market for Home, Lifestyle + Gift, will take place 3 to 6 February at New York City’s Jacob K. Javits Convention Centre.
