Sneak peek: kids gifts for Christmas 2020
Despite Tiger Tribe’s entire creative team working from home since late March, Covid-19 related delays to production, trade fair cancellations and current stage 4 lockdown in Melbourne, the company is remaining positive and is excited to launch its new range of kids gifts for Christmas 2020.
The family-run, design-led and imaginative children’s brand based in Melbourne, is all about fun, non-digital alternatives to screen time and keeping kids busy and creative (never more important in these uncertain times). All its products are designed and illustrated in Australia.
Here are some of the gifts to look out for:
Mix and match, create and play with Tiger Tribe’s new Magna Dress Up―Town & Country. A modern take on traditional paper dolls, little ones will love dressing up this sweet magnetic doll in her wonderful wardrobe of matching outfits. Town and country, tops and bottoms, shoes and accessories, switch and swap—simply pop her up on the wooden stand, press the magnetic clothing items out and get your creative stylist juices flowing. RRP $20.
The all new Stroller Cards―Out & About or Transport are the perfect take anywhere travel toy for toddlers. The five large, vibrantly coloured and double-sided cards feature familiar natural objects like cats, dogs, birds, bees, planes, cars, steam trains and buses. Colourful sparkles, fuzzy flocking and shiny spot varnishes provide an additional sensory experience for little hands and eyes. RRP $16.
Explore the world of vision, shadows and the effect of light with Tiger Tribe’s new STEAM activity set, Light and Shine―Playing with Optics. This super cool activity set includes 26 enlightening optical experiments.
Use the enclosed mirrors and create mandala pictures to draw and colour, or make your own Planetarium using constellation cards and the included torch. Trick your brain with a bunch of amazing optical illusions or explore the Stroop Effect. You can even create your own Thaumatrope—a brilliant optical toy that creates animated movement. RRP $25.
Aussie Animals on wheels, crazy but awesome fun. Tiger Tribe’s new PullBack―Aussie Animals includes Koala and Echidna, two adorable ready-to-go animals in the one set.
With no batteries required, little ones simply pull the animals backwards, release and then watch them zoom across the floor. These Aussie cuties have a fun little surprise…they travel forwards, then backwards and forwards again. The back and forth movements are sure to delight babies and toddlers, at the same time encouraging visual tracking skills. RRP $15.
Less screen and more green, Tiger Tribe’s Paper Binoculars―Bird Spotter helps kids unplug and encourages outdoor adventures and begins with little explorers designing their own personal binoculars. Simply fold out, add nature-themed stickers and then get ready for all manner of wildlife discoveries in the backyard or local park.
Using the eight fun activity cards to guide play, little bird spotters can use their binoculars to count birds and discover in nature. Colour recognition is enhanced by observing different kinds of birds and marking them off on a list. RRP $12.
Mash-Up Colouring Set―Dress Ups & Monster Mash introduce kids to a colourful cast of classic mix and match costumes or motley monsters.
A fun new addition to Tiger Tribe’s best-selling range of beautifully illustrated colouring sets, the spiral bound flip pages can be coloured in to create 32 dress up costumes or monsters or mix them up to create infinite mashups. RRP $20.
Products are available from mid to late September.
