coastal theme specialists akcent decor will launch a new range of nautical homewares in retro colours as part of its beachhouse decor label at the melbourne august home & giving fair.
products will feature either orange, red, off-white or blue colours in a distressed finish. retailers can choose from large ships wheels, boat shaped shelves and lighthouse and yacht decorative pieces.
director aniko silk says the new collection offers a colourful twist to the traditional nautical look.
“the nautical theme is always on trend and retro designs are currently in fashion, additionally the softer orange seems to be a strong colour for this season,” silk says. “it is significantly different to past nautical collections because of the retro colours and also because we have some larger pieces.”
the new range is expected to not only suit coastal themed stores but furniture and homewares stores as well.
“we are expecting a good reaction [at the fair] as it’s quite different and the market always needs something fresh and different.”
akcent decor will also launch more than 250 new coastal themed products as well as some complimentary pieces.
