Aussie invention taking the stress out of travelling with kids
Australian mum of three, Samantha Cardone knows how difficult travelling with children can be. From pacing up and down attempting to calm a screaming child to being unable to move for the duration of a long-haul flight because your kids have fallen asleep across your legs—travel with little ones isn’t easy.
Determined to find a solution that would help families (her own included) reduce the stress of travel, Cardone came up with Plane Pal.
This is a custom-designed inflatable cushion that fills the space between a child’s seat and the seat in front. By using the previously wasted space between seats, Plane Pal lets little legs stretch out, helping kids (hopefully) get some sleep or just relax.
“As a mother of three who loves to travel, I wanted to help families reduce the stress associated with getting to your destination,” says Cardone. “I have been that mother desperately rocking a screaming child whilst pacing the aisle.
“Technology has given us so many ways to entertain your children during flights, but little has been done to improve their comfort—until Plane Pal.”
The genius invention is made from high quality nylon and comes with a pump for stress-free, easy inflation after take-off. It is currently accepted by over 35 airlines, and Cardone is quick to point out it can be used in many situations, not just on flights.
“We’ve had lots of adventurers use them in cars and on trains and buses,” she says. “Wherever your family is headed, I hope that Plane Pal will help you and your family enjoy the journey and not just the destination.”
