Wholesaler BeesKnees Imports has been appointed the exclusive Australian distributor of Swedish children’s brand oskar&ellen.
Based in Stockholm, oskar&ellen offers a range of handmade fabric soft toys that encourage children to use their imagination through play. Each product is designed in Sweden and manufactured in the Philippines.
“We initially came across this brand on the internet and thought it looked amazing,” says BeesKnees director Antje Kaldor. “We then took a closer look at some of the items in stores in Europe.
“We think that this is a very special brand due to the creativity of the designs and the elaborate features and intricate detail in each product, combined with the fact that the items are handmade under fair trade conditions.”
While other Australian retailers have offered a small range of oskar&ellen items, BeesKnees is the first Australian distributor for the brand, and Kaldor says it is a great fit. “We distribute several other European brands of high quality toys and children’s gifts,” she says. “Our focus is on products that are of the highest standards in terms of design, materials used, educational value, craftsmanship and safety, and oskar&ellen is a perfect addition to our existing range.”
The oskar&ellen collection includes an extensive array of play bags, story bags, pretend play items, reversible dolls and dress up items, which Kaldor is excited to show off. “We have already had great interest in the brand, in particular for the animal hats and tails.”
