Elliot Hall brings new collection to Aussie shores
UK enamel brand Elliot Hall Enamels has released a new range exclusive to the Australian market. The limited edition collection includes the Platypus vase, Lyrebird bowl and Honey Possum box, with only 25 pieces of each available.
Until now, collections had been inspired by flora, fauna and historic events, predominantly from England.
“After an immediate uptake from Australian and New Zealand markets following tours in 2014 and 2015, artists have extended their creative flair drawing inspiration from these cultures also,” says managing director Elliot Hall.
The three items feature some of Australia’s most recognisable animals―platypus, possum and lyrebird― surrounded by the country’s most beautiful and colourful flora and fauna.
“We picked the platypus and lyrebird from seeing them firstly on Australian currency and simply because they are such unusual creatures and so inspiring for our artists that love the challenge of painting the diverse flora and fauna that Australia has to offer. The possum was requested by many collectors on my recent tour of Australia so being a company that listens to its customers we responded to this,” Hall explains.
Elliot Hall Enamels launched in 2006 and its collections are renowned for their intricate detail, wholly painted, freehand, inside and out, adorning bespoke shapes such as goblets, trinket boxes and eggs.
“The company’s mantra is a dedication to excellence, artist’s proofs sometimes spanning months on end before a piece is accepted… Bespoke retailers often commission pieces based on individual collector’s styles.”
Hall will introduce a few more pieces in editions similar to this in size later in the year so collectors that miss out initially will have another chance later on, as he anticipates demand for the first pieces in this collection to be extremely high.
“Our aim as a collectable company is to make something that is collectable because of its quality and beauty but also for its rarity. We are treating Australia as a land of great opportunity for Elliot Hall Enamels and it is getting the royal treatment with these exclusive editions.”
The collection is now available from antique, collectible and jewellery stores and the company is looking for more stockists.
