Fig & Bloom launches Daisy Chain Project
Gift and flower delivery service Fig & Bloom wants to help spread joy and positivity in these challenging times by introducing an initiative called the Daisy Chain Project.
Inspired by the joy that chain mail delivers, the Fig & Bloom Daisy Chain Project will see people across Australia send and receive complementary large size Fig & Bloom bouquets in a chain like fashion.
Fig & Bloom founder and floral designer, Kellie Brown, says sending flowers is such a nice way to send some happiness to friends and family.
“We live in a world where it’s so easy to send someone a message whether that’s via WhatsApp, Facebook or SMS, but flowers are this very traditional way of sending a message that actually means something and we love being a part of that,” she enthuses.
“Where border closures, restrictions and lockdowns have taken away many of the physical gestures we can do for one another, sending flowers isn’t one of them. Through the Daisy Chain Project we hope to be able to spread kindness, love and joy by empowering Aussies to pay it forward to family, friends and loved ones.”
Like a real-life daisy chain, the Daisy Chain Project will grow one bouquet at a time through a nominations-based process. Like a real-life daisy chain, the Daisy Chain Project will grow one bouquet at a time through a nominations-based process.
To kickstart the Daisy Chain Project, two Fig & Bloom followers were chosen through a competition to initiate the chain effect.
Both had to nominate who they wanted to send a Fig & Bloom bouquet to and these recipients can then nominate someone else to be part of the project and so on. To ensure the chain continues, there will be two continuous Daisy Chains always running.
People are loving being able to send a beautiful arrangement on to someone that needs it―some have also passed flowers onto people they know, while others send them on to acquaintances or someone they have heard is in hospital.
“We hope to see the Daisy Chain Project continue and grow for many years to come or for as long as it takes until the chain is broken. The last nearly two years of Covid have impacted everyone in some way or another and it’s been extremely tough for so many. Through the Daisy Chain Project, we hope to be able to brighten someone’s day, every day,” Brown adds.
The campaign started on September 13 and runs until 11 October.
