Gadget King expands AppToyz range
products that allow smartphone users to play interactive games are currently in high demand, leading to the growth of gadget king’s apptoyz brand.
the new products cover a range of ages and genders. they include app fishing, app drive and a quiz game app.
“we’re using the genius and the brilliance inside these smart phone devices and just adding peripherals that work with it, so we certainly have advanced our apps but we’ve also added more apps,” says gadget king founder rod king who also helps develop apptoyz.
“the first product we launched last year was the appblaster with two apps. we actually now have 10 apps live on the app store that work with that device, so we’re continuously adding to each of these products we’ve developed and adding more apps and more technology for them.”
king believes this is the future of gaming and these products are becoming so popular because of the number of consumers who own a smart phone or tablet device.
“most people today have a smart phone in their pocket, the kids all have these ipod touches and this is the way gaming seems to be going. people are less and less going to a console locked away in a cupboard plugged into the tv and they want to have the convenience and the portability of the gaming…
“from a retailers perspective where they were missing out on gaming sales because the sales [in the] gaming area have gone down significantly, a lot of that’s gone across to the app world [and] they’re now able to sell products that can compete in that place.”
the range is set to expand further next year with apptoyz moving into licensing products with companies such as disney.
