gia retail awards live-streamed via web and Facebook
The 2020 Global Honourees for the IHA Global Innovation Awards (gia) for retail excellence and product design will be announced this Thursday 23 April during a live-streamed event on TheInspiredHome.com.
Due to the ongoing situation with Covid-19, the Inspired Home Show and gia awards, which are normally announced during the show in Chicago, were unfortunately cancelled. However, the organisers decided to still announce the winners via a live-streamed event.
“The difficulties of 2020 are simply unprecedented and as hard as it was to cancel the show, it proved to be the correct decision,” said IHA president, Derek Miller, in a statement last week.
“Coronavirus has since created an environment that continues to challenge all aspects of the industry. We all look forward to the time when some sense of normalcy prevails―when we all return to our offices and when consumers return to stores.
“In these challenging times, we at IHA are more dedicated than ever to provide meaningful services.”
The gia awards for retail will be announced first starting at 10am CDT (3pmGMT) followed by the awards for product design at 11am CDT (4pm GMT).
The retail gia Awards will honour five retailers from 32 national gia winners from 31 countries, along with winners of the Martin M. Pegler Award for Excellence in Visual Merchandising and the Digital Commerce Award for Excellence in Online Retailing. Aussie retailer Few and Far will be representing Australia this year at the awards.
The product design gia Awards will recognise a Global Honouree in each of 14 categories, including sustainability which was added this year.
The awards are sponsored by IHA and The Inspired Home Show. They were to be presented at a gala dinner during The Inspired Home Show last month. You can check out all the finalists at TheInspiredHomeShow.com.
