Gibson combines brands into super gift business
Gift wholesaler Gibson Importing is consolidating its two business units, Unity Gifts and Gibson Gifts, which will now be trading under the one brand.
Managing director Jamie Moir says the move will be more beneficial to the retailer and make it easier for them to purchase products with one point of contact instead of two.
“We strongly believe, from the feedback we have received that this will be much more retailer friendly―over 90 per cent of our customers are buying from both Unity and Gibson Gifts,” he says.
“Our customers will now have one place to go for the most comprehensive gift range available in Australia and one representative able to provide the complete product solution and truly become a ‘trusted advisor’.”
Both brands will fall under Gibson Importing but Moir says the Unity brand will not be lost. It will be incorporated into the Gibson Importing ranges and cover its home decorator product selection.
“By taking the very best items from both ranges we will have a range both in quality and size to appeal to any gift retailer nationwide.”
The consolidation means there will only be one website which will be supported by a strong digital marketing campaign, says Moir.
“Our objective is to make it the best, most talked about website for giftware retailers in Australia―enhanced and very retailer friendly. We are working on the new site now and it will be launched in September.”
The new Gibson brand will be launched at the Melbourne Gift Fair in August.
