High-end pet accessories brand Furf Pets launches
As pets have become fully fledged members of the family, we also want to make sure their pet bowls looks as good on the dining room table as it does on the kitchen floor.
Bringing style and sophistication into the pet-friendly home, animal loving Makeshi-Thappen has launched Furf Pets, a high end, design focused pet accessories brand.
For co-founder Scott Kington, who is also the co-founder of Blunt Umbrellas, having ugly dog bowls lying around the house was enough of an eye sore for him to do something about it.
“My dog Buddy is my best mate and constant companion,” says Kington. “I was sick of having ugly dog bowls lying around, and when I found out that there could be potentially harmful materials in his old bowl, that was it.”
Together with Kiwi designer David Haythornthwaite, Kiwi Josh Page and Aussie Joel Schuberg―Blunt Umbrellas’ former global brand manager and Australian distributor respectively―Kington introduced Furf Pets.
“Our goal is to bring the same ethos we created with our design-led umbrella brand Blunt Umbrellas into the homes of pet lovers,” says Page.
Furf Pets products have been created with your pet’s safety in mind and an all-encompassing sustainability ethos throughout production―the team wanted to make sure the products they designed were sustainable, design-led and properly made, so it would add to the home’s décor, not ruin it.
“In a world of unlimited sustainable design possibilities, you no longer have to put up with the monstrosity that is the average dog bowl. Style and home décor now extends to our pets and their accessories,” adds Page.
The stylish, functional and sustainable pet bowl comes in the aesthetically pleasing colours of black stone, bone white and dusty pink.
The range also includes a silicone feeding mat to hold the Furf food and drink bowls in place. All products are made from materials such as food-grade silicone rubber and stainless steel, and are dishwasher safe.
Furf Pets products are available in Australia and New Zealand.
