Jones & Co releases four new summer ranges
Australian homewares and jewellery company, Jones & Co, has released four eclectic summer ranges including new lines from Have You Met Miss Jones, Lucky Ocean Club and Mr Green Grass.
Aussie Summer
Aussie Summer is the latest range from Have You Met Miss Jones and founder, Jennifer Jones, says it is about celebrating the uniquely Australian aesthetic with sandy yellows and grey gumleaf blues.
“We wanted to pay homage to our local sensibilities”, she explains. “The way we interpret design in Australia is different to the rest of the world.”
The range includes vases and decorations in bone china, along with a collection of earthenware items featuring fruit motifs that celebrate summertime roadside market stall stops.
“Really observing our surroundings and being present to absorb inspiration gave me the leaping off [point] for this collection,” adds Jones. “The harsh light coupled with our fun sensibility makes for a result that feels familiar and fresh all at once—it’s like modern nostalgia.”
Le Marais
Also from Have You Met Miss Jones is Le Marais, a light-hearted, whimsical homewares collection that combines fun patterns with contemporary shapes and textures. A recent trip to Paris, and particularly the eclectic streets of the Marais district, was the inspiration for the range.
“Everything from the street art to the cafes, chic fashion and bold storefronts spoke to me, and I knew it would translate into a great collection,” says Jones. “With the roots of our brand firmly planted in ceramics we are always pushing the envelope of how we can reinvent the medium.”
Island Life
From Lucky Ocean Club there’s Island Life, a range of homewares that creates a summer spirit all year round. Jones describes the range as “like Have You Met Miss Jones on holiday” and says it was inspired by her childhood growing up in the Philippines.
The Island Life collection uses raffia, shell, jute and paper to evoke a holiday mood at home, says Jones. “We get to play with different materials in Lucky Ocean Club that suit the mood of the brand,” she explains. “Many of the new pieces in this collection, like the pandan fans, are from customer requests so we know they will strike a chord.”
Garden Party
Mr Green Grass’s latest edition is the Garden Party collection of colourful indoor and outdoor garden pots. Jones’ love of summer in Bondi inspired the new range, which features the summery hues of coral, navy white and citrus yellow.
“In summer the light hitting all the saturated colours and textures on our pots in my little Bondi garden really inspired me to create a collection that is functional, beautiful and brings joy,” Jones says. “I wanted to capture that summer breeze feeling with a modern colour palette and textured graphic patterns to reflect the light and enhance the plant inside.”
