Kaleidoscope wins award for craft product
toy wholesaler kaleidoscope has been honoured with an independent toy specialists of australia (itsa) award for its djeco craft sets for the third year running.
managing director jos benner attended the awards night in melbourne to pick up the trophy.
kaleidoscope believes the triple win proves how unique the product is and the confidence itsa has in the range.
“we have won the award three years in a row for djeco art and craft,” says josé jimenez, sales and marketing manager. “it says everything about the product and its standing in the marketplace.
“australian consumers are a creative bunch and it shows with djeco as sales continue to increase and its popularity continues to grow.”
djeco products are beautifully designed and suit a wide range of consumers. “it is a boutique range and caters to the creative side of younger and older children, both girls and boys. we won the award by vote and we are proud to have this range.”
this comes as kaleidoscope adds another brand to its staple. it has signed on tronico after it was spotted at the nuremburg fair in january.
the wholesaler decided to distribute the product because of its price point, quality and it fills a gap in the market.
“it offers the market what our retailers have been asking for, older boys toys (eight years and over) at the right price point. it also suits a new market we traditionally do not have offerings for and that is the hobby market and to some extent some of the products are also well suited to adults,” he explains.
retailers have received the product well with the brand achieving strong orders at reed gift fair sydney and the australian toy, hobby and nursery fair.
“…the response was brilliant and exceeded our expectations. we are very happy with the response and presales for the product were excellent,” jimenez adds.
