Life Instyle Sydney embraces ethical manufacturing
According to the First Insight Forum’s ‘The State of Consumer Spending’ report, consumers across all generations—from baby boomers to Gen Z—are now willing to spend more for sustainable products compared to two years ago, when only 58 per cent of consumers across all generations were willing to spend more for sustainable options.
Today, nearly 90 per cent of Gen X consumers say that they would be willing to spend an extra 10 per cent or more for sustainable products, compared to just over 34 per cent two years ago. And the World Economic Forum recently announced that 65 per cent of consumers want to make the right spending choices to live a healthier and more sustainable life.
Tapping into this trend, Life Instyle’s The Neighbourhood theme for the Sydney event, held at the ICC 18 to 21 February 2023, is Future Eden, with a focus on sustainability and ethical manufacturing.
“It is critical for us at Life Instyle to showcase products that are reflective of the major consumer trends, offering our visitors a curated group of brands and products that are going to allow them to create a retail product offering that is going to appeal to today’s consumer,” marketing manager for Life Instyle, Annabelle Arch, says about the Future Eden space.
Indeed, promoting products that are using reused, repurposed and recycled materials with limited waste impact, buyers can expect to see brands such as Eva Cassis clothing, which creates slow, luxury, sustainable fashion using completely sustainable fabrics; Odesse, which creates solid fragrances offering sustainable alternatives to spray fragrances that are plastic, water and alcohol free and completely refillable and recyclable; and Worthy drink bottles, made in Melbourne from 100 per cent sustainably grown sugarcane and manufactured with zero carbon and zero waste.
“The demand for sustainable and ethically sourced and manufactured products no longer appeals just to a niche group of consumers, but to the mass. This is a good thing, not only for the planet of course, but for the Australian economy.”
